🥘 10 Must-Eat Items
1. Homemade Gnudi (Ricotta Dumplings)
The homemade gnudi was amazing—soft, rich, and full of flavor—and the ceviche was fresh, with surprising flavors, and perfectly balanced. This signature dish features pillowy ricotta dumplings that are a highlight of the menu. The gnudi demonstrates the restaurant's skill with Italian-Mediterranean fusion, creating a cloud-like texture with rich, satisfying flavors.
2. Mediterranean Ceviche
Expect ceviche that took a detour through the Mediterranean with medjool dates, chickpeas, and yogurt. This isn't your typical Latin American ceviche—Night Kitchen adds Eastern Mediterranean ingredients like dates, chickpeas, and yogurt to create a unique fusion dish that's both refreshing and surprising.
3. Sea Bass Sashimi
Standouts for us were the Sea Bass Sashimi (served intriguingly with burnt nectarines, okra, parsley oil, labneh, and mizuna) and the Roasted Lamb with tabbouleh salad, tzatziki, pomegranate and mint. This dish showcases the chef's creativity by pairing delicate raw fish with unexpected ingredients like burnt nectarines and Middle Eastern labneh.
4. Roasted Lamb
Standouts for us were the Sea Bass Sashimi (served intriguingly with burnt nectarines, okra, parsley oil, labneh, and mizuna) and the Roasted Lamb with tabbouleh salad, tzatziki, pomegranate and mint. The lamb is a crowd favorite, served with classic Mediterranean accompaniments including fresh tabbouleh, cool tzatziki, sweet pomegranate, and aromatic mint. This dish represents the heart of Levantine cuisine.
5. Shaved Celeriac Salad
It was the first celeriac dish I'd order again. Thinly shaved, served with feta crumble, za'atar vinaigrette, coriander, chilli and pistachio. Even skeptics are converted by this standout vegetable dish. The celeriac is thinly shaved and dressed with za'atar vinaigrette, topped with feta, fresh herbs, chili, and pistachios for a perfect balance of textures and flavors.
6. Tteokbokki (Korean-Mediterranean Fusion)
The restaurant offers a personalized dining experience with a 'Dinner with Friends' menu, featuring shared plates of Mediterranean-inspired dishes such as homemade ricotta dumplings, Mediterranean ceviche, and tteokbokki (Korean rice-based gnocchi). This inventive dish takes Korean rice cakes and gives them a Mediterranean treatment, showcasing Night Kitchen's global approach to flavor.
7. Flat Iron Steak with Bone Marrow
Or a flat iron steak you can top with rich marrow and even richer garlic confit. This indulgent meat dish features tender flat iron steak topped with luxurious bone marrow and rich garlic confit—a decadent combination that meat lovers shouldn't miss.
8. Slow Roasted Tomato Salad
Slow roasted tomatoes, pita-croutons, basil, mozzarella. Rumor has it that you can't leave Night Kitchen without trying their tomato salad. This beloved dish features slow-roasted tomatoes with crispy pita croutons, fresh basil, and creamy mozzarella—a Mediterranean classic elevated to perfection.
9. Octopus
We were further spoiled with Gnudi, Octopus, Sea Bass and two fabulous desserts. The octopus preparation is frequently mentioned by diners as a standout. While preparation varies with the seasonal menu, expect perfectly tender octopus with Mediterranean spices and accompaniments.
10. Baked Cabbage
Baked Cabbage with miso-coconut cream, crispy leeks, za'atar and chestnuts. This vegetarian dish showcases Night Kitchen's ability to transform humble ingredients into something special. The cabbage is baked and paired with Asian-inspired miso-coconut cream, Middle Eastern za'atar, crispy leeks, and earthy chestnuts for a globally-inspired vegetable dish.
